With pride, I recommend this article "The Light" by Zhao Yijing,a student majoring in performance in the 2020 class. From this article, we can clearly see that a girl who loves film and television has a dream in her heart and the light in her eyes. It is especially gratifying that she, and her classmates, clearly know that for this dream, they need to study hard and practice diligently; They need to constantly break through themselves and embrace life enthusiastically; They need to deeply root in the ground below feet, Staring at the sky above head in awe. We have reason to believe and expect that she, and her classmates, will be a new generation of outstanding film and television workers who tell Chinese stories in world languages. 我怀着骄傲的心情，向大家推荐 2020 级表演专业赵一璟同学的这篇文章《光芒》。从这篇文章中，我们可以清晰地看到，一个热爱影视的女孩， 心中的梦想，眼里的光芒。尤其令人欣慰的是，她，以及她的同学们，清醒地知道，为了这个梦想，需要刻苦地学习，勤奋地实践；需要不断地突破自我，热忱地拥抱生活；需要深入地扎根脚下的土地，敬畏地注目头顶的天空。我们有理由相信和期待，她，和她的同学们，将是用世界语言讲中国故事的新一代优秀影视工作者，他们，将是中国影视产业的未来之光！

The Light 

2020 has got off to a rough start. A sudden outbreak of COVID-19 has hit China like crazy. The horrible panic and the endless uncertainty had been hovering above me for months. Gratefully, there was a bright light breaking it and illuminated my life: That is, our country soon achieved a decisive victory in the fight against the epidemic. As a young adult, I felt deeply for the first time, how lucky I am living in such a great country although life will inevitably encounter difficulties and hardships. Besides, what makes me more hopeful about the future is, I successfully, through the university entrance exam, entered a brand new International Film and Television Academy – Wardour Studios Academy, Haikou University of Economics.

In September, with a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness, I began my college life here in Wardour Studios Academy, to pursue my dream of acting. I firmly believe that everything will start from scratch, and be hopeful, although everything is strange. It did not take long for me to feel that Wardour Studios Academy has everything I had expected of a college. There is no doubt that Wardour Studios Academy has a gorgeous campus and advanced facilities. But what I cherish the most are my remarkable teachers, and the precious opportunities that Wardour Studios Academy offers, thanks to my extraordinary professors and instructors, I had a smooth transition to my college life from high school and accustomed to commence courses and acquire skills as a freshman.The nervousness and upset I had at the beginning of the school year were gradually replaced by my endless curiosity for learning and my enormous desire to perform. 

I firmly believe that our respectful and dedicated teachers are working to breathe new life into film industry. We have remarkable professionals coming from the globe to teach us. Their different teaching methods and styles always bring me different ideas and perspectives on acting. I personally benefited tremendously from Mr. Aike’s lessons. In my eyes, his class is completely different from conventional performance courses. With an advanced performance System, he eschews the traditional teaching methods in favor of sharp feedback and novel expression. Besides, physical training and performance are neatly intertwined together in his class. Because of the use of integrated teaching, his course is practical for students and contributes to the overall quality of the students, which can stimulate our interest and tap our potential. After taking his course, I was able to go deep inside myself and found my true self in the glittering world of acting. Of course, in Wardour Studios Academy, there are many inspiring teachers like Mr. Aike.

The old saying holds true: Practice makes perfect. In the cultivation of performance arts, learning, accumulation and practice play an indispensable role. What calls for special attention is that Wardour Studios Academy just offers such a fabulous blend of practicing and major learning. Putting theory into practice isthe most ideal method to hone ours abilities to deal with emergency situation and mould a nimble character. “Straight to avenue of stars,everybody has a shot; Brandish youth stage, each is the leading role” is the promises that Wardour Studios Academy made to students and parents. Wardour Studios Academy has never failed to keep the promises. Actually, they have been doing above and beyond. 

In the first semester, no less than four film auditions have been conducted and 15 students with diverse major backgrounds have been chosen for different filming crews. Opportunities ahead are a magnet for students are scramble to present themselves in front of the judges and cameras which include myself. I will never forget my first audition experience. Though I had spent so much time and effort to prepare for the audition, I was still not at ease during my performance. I did not know how to better present myself in front of the camera and at the same time acting out the plot. Fortunately, after participating in more auditions, I now feel more confident in front of the camera. Those auditions laid a solid foundation for building my performing skills. For me, each audition has given me a deeper understanding of what I have learned in the classroom and books, and let me sincerely appreciate the school’s philosophy of “Connecting the classroom with the film set”. All efforts will pay off. At the end of the first semester exam, I finally joined, together with other 10 students, in the first project of "Wardour Holiday Film Field Training & Student Film and Television Creation Project". TV series" When the Peach Blossom bloom" produced by our professor Ms.Zheng Kainan. Additionally, there are plentiful other opportunities. For example, I attended the Hainan Island International Film Festival lately. Our students like me were in company with film celebrities during the festival. It was a precious learning opportunity. Attending events like this broadens our horizon of the film industry and could help us accumulate resources to draw on experience of outstanding celebrities and for the future. 

Nevertheless, the point of grabbing the precious chances and acquiring skills in such a competitive condition hinges on contribution from ourselves which conclude our professionalism, aggressiveness and daily behavior. Of all the ingredients of success, initiative seems to be the first within our control. Chance favors the prepared mind. Under no circumstance we can gain access to multiple chances unless you are prepared and eligible for showing yourself. I am delighted that Wardour Studios Academy has created a vigorous learning environment for students and we can compete on an equal footing with our classmates, the more diligent one can definitely reap huge fruits. We learn from each other, help each other and sharing weal and woe, and compete with each other in a virtuous circle. We must go to great lengths to secure the key to the door that we are desire to. 

No matter where you are from, no matter who you are, at this moment, there is one thing in which you and I are just alike, which is, we are always on the road. On our way to our destinations, we are not alone. Stage performance is the performing arts which is derived from life and but higher than life, but not justlife itself and the copy of art of living. The students of Wardour Studios Academy! Let’s dream and study hard. We are truly great company of each other on the journey of pursuing our dreams. 

Like everybody else, my year of 2020 started tough. With the bright light of Wardour Studios Academy, my year of 2020 ended strongly, stronger than ever!

Looking to the future, let us be diligent and responsible; Let us be thankful for the opportunity; Let us dare! Wardour Studios Academy moves forward hand in hand with confidence and pride. By the time we graduate, we, the first graduate class of Wardour Studios Academy shall bring our light to illuminate the world’s film industry! 

光芒 

2020 年开局艰难，一场突如其来的新冠肺炎疫情袭击了我们。整整几个月，可怕的恐慌和似乎无尽的不确定性包围着我。感谢一道光芒击破了这一切阴霾，照亮了我的生活：那就是我们国家很快取得了抗疫斗争的决定性胜利，刚刚成年的我第一次深刻地感受到，虽然人生不可避免地要遇到各种艰难困苦，但是生长在这个伟大的国家，我是多么幸运。而且更让我对未来充满希望的是，我成功地通过高考，进入一所全新的国际化影视学院——海口经济学院·华都影视学院（Wardour Studios Academy ）。

九月，我怀着兴奋和紧张的心情，在华都影视学院开始了我的大学生活，追求我在表演艺术方面的梦想。我坚信，虽然一切都是陌生的，但一切都会从零开始，一切都充满希望。没过多久，我就深深感受到，华都影视学院满足我对大学所期望的一切。毫无疑问，华都影视学院拥有美丽的校园和先进的设施，但最让我珍惜的是我们杰出的老师们，以及华都影视学院宝贵的学习机会。感谢我杰出的教授和导师们，作为一名大一新生，我顺利地从高中生活过渡到了大学生活，并习惯于开始学习大学课程和掌握学习技能。开学时的紧张和不安渐渐被我无尽的求知欲和巨大的表演欲望所取代。

我深信，我们令人尊敬和敬业的老师们正致力于为电影业注入新的生命力。有来自世界各地的优秀的专业人士们来教我们，他们不同的教学方法和教学风格总是给我带来对表演不同的思考和观点。我个人从艾克老师的课上受益匪浅。在我眼中，他的课和传统的表演课完全不同，他以先进的表演体系，避开传统的表演教学方法，而更重视敏锐的反馈和新颖的表达。除此之外，体能训练和表演训练在他的课上也被巧妙揉合在一起。由于采用一体化的综合教学，他的课程面向学生实际，有利于培养学生的综合素质，这可以激发我们的兴趣，挖掘我们的潜力。上完他的课程后，我能够深入到自己的内心深处，在闪闪发光的表演世界里找到真正的自己。当然啦，在华都影视学院还有很多像艾克这样时刻激励我们的老师。

俗话说得好：熟能生巧。在表演艺术的培养中，学习、积累和实践发挥着不可或缺的作用。特别值得一提的是，华都影视学院真正提供给了我们非常好的实践和专业融合的学习机会。理论联系实际是磨练我们应对突发事件、塑造灵活表演性格的最理想方法。“直通星光大道，人人都有戏；挥洒青春舞台，个个是主角”，是华都影视学院给学生们和家长们的承诺。华都影视学院从没有忘记过他们的承诺，事实上，他们一直在不断超越。

在第一学期中，已经进行了不少于四次的电影试镜，并为不同的摄制组选择了15名具有不同专业背景的学生。我永远不会忘记我的第一次试镜经历。尽管我花了很多时间和精力为试镜做准备，但是我在表演中仍然感到不自在。我不知道如何在镜头前更好地展现自己，同时又要表现出情节。幸运的是，在我参加了更多的试镜之后，现在我对镜头前的感觉更加自信。这些试镜为培养我的表演技能打下了坚实的基础。此外，还有很多其他机会。例如，我最近参加了海南岛国际电影节。电影节期间，像我这样的学生与电影界的名人一起。这是一次宝贵的学习机会。参加此类活动可以拓宽电影业的视野，并可以帮助我们积累未来的资源。 

除此之外，在竞争环境中抓住宝贵的机会和获得技能的关键在于我们自己的付出，这包括我们的专业精神、进取心和日常行为。在成功的所有要素中，主动性似乎是我们能控制的第一要素。机会总是会眷顾有准备的人。在任何情况下，只有时刻做好准备，努力展现自己，才能获得更多的机会。我很高兴华都影视学院为学生们创造了一个充满活力的学习环境，同学们平等竞争，只要努力就一定能收获硕果。我们相互学习，互相帮助，患难与共， 在良性循环中相互竞争。我们必须不遗余力，才能获得我们打开通往理想之门的钥匙。 

无论你来自哪里，无论你是谁，此时此刻，在这里，有一点我们是一致的，那就是我们永远在路上，在我们追求梦想的路上，我们不是一个人。表演是源于生活、高于生活的艺术，而不仅仅是生活本身和生活的复制品。华都影视学院的同学们，让我们怀揣梦想，努力学习。在我们追求梦想的旅程中，我们是真正伟大的同伴。与所有人一样，我的 2020 年开始时是艰难的，我的 2020 年结束时是强大的， 比以往任何时候都更强大！展望未来，让我们勤勉尽责；让我们感恩机遇；让我们勇于挑战！华都影视学院与我们携手共进，带着自信与自豪，当我们毕业的时候，我们，华都影视学院的第一届毕业生将用我们的光芒照亮世界电影产业！
